divorce and maintainace

my marriage has been solemanized according to hindu lawin the year 2003 but after one and half year of our marriage i come to know h=my husband drinh=k very heavily and slowly he started torturing me mentally and physically this affected our married life .he is earing 30 thousand per month now i want divorce but he is not ready .we are living saperately since one and half year .i wan divorce with maitenance .we have only one daughter .plz suggest me

If your/family members counselling to get him out of the bad habit does not work, you can seek divorce on the grounds of cruelty. As both of you are married for only 6 years and having a daughter, think about your future and take decision accordingly. Since drunkenness is a voluntary madness, try to treat him by making him attend 'alcoholic anonymous' meetings and/or some good rehabilitation centres.

u have to grounds for divorce first is that ur living seperatly for more than 1 and half year. second that ur husband ill treatment to u. but before going for just check out whether there is any posibility to make him understand or try to resolve this problem by elder family member.
