complain against philips india

(Querist) 20 October 2015 This query is : Resolved
I purchased a Philips 42"LCD in Oct 2012 in which I got 3 years warranty, in which company has given 1 year full warranty and 2years labour warranty.
This set of TV has got issue with its power supply boards and in last 3years this set has been operated 3 times for the same issue with the same board.
I lodged a complain at Philips customer care on 14-09-2015 regarding the issue and asked the company to replace the TV set as this set has got issue with the same board after each 10-12 months, but they refused to replace my TV set.
Kindly advice what to do on this issue, I am totally frustrated.
Thanks and regards

Warranty does not mean that they will replace the entire TV Set.
In fact even according to you, they have attended to the defect there times, without asking for any payment, since it was under warranty.
Even now, if you have any difficulty, you can have the same attended to under warranty. But you cannot ask for replacement.

Admittedly, the company had attended to your complaints, but not in a satisfactory manner. The only option is to approach a Consumer Court. However, the company may have its defence/explanation to offer and hence, the outcome is uncertain.

You may take a chance, if so advised.

Dear Hamid,

Full warranty in your case expired in October 2013. So, asking for replacement on 14-09-2015 cannot be treated as justified, as on that date only labour warranty was valid. O that date, you could ask for repair/ maintenance, not replacement.

So, even if approach the consumer forum, you are expected to face only failure. Better ask for proper repair, if a few days more of warranty are still available.

In view of the given facts, you are not entitled for replacement of the set. Call them to repair it if warranty remains.

Your contention is that same problem is recurring despite the claimed repair, hence the problem was indeed never fully repaired.

Escalate mentioning all details in writing to Head-f service and sales and extract a written reply.

If you are not satisfied try to create a noise by approaching portals like Pehredar and see if company agrees.......

DCDRF shall decide on merits.

During the warranty period only certain parts will be replaced on free of cost. Bu the set will not be replaced.

I had paid them Rs 3000/- two times for the repair of the damaged circuit board and they had not given me any receipt of the money I paid, and this is the third time I got issue with the same board and I have been asked to pay Rs 3925/- for the new circuit board, I purchased this set of television by paying them 34000/- rupees and so far I had spend Rs 8000/- to repair this set.
Furthermore when I visited some sites to look into the issue I am facing with the product, I found that there are thousand of complain lying idle with the same board of the same company, after that it was very clear to me that this company is making defective product and selling it, so my point of view is that I am not only the victim of this company, there are thousand of innocent people who is suffering after purchasing there product. What should I do, in the name of extended warranty they are fooling the people.
Kindly suggest me how to fight against this fraud company.
