retirement of co-operative society secretary.

My dad, our society secretary, has resigned from the post due to health reasons. There is still a long time to go for the Society Managing Committee elections. In such a case, what should the committee do to appoint a secretary in place of my dad, who would carry on the activities n duties of a society secretary. What procedure should be followed. Thanks.

Sir,
Your father should tender his resignation and submit all records lying with him, to the Chairman.
The Managing Committee can co-opt another member to the post of the Secretary for its remaining tenure.
