Proof of possesion

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 20 May 2010 This query is : Resolved
Sir,
I have land in two plots, both are adjacent to each other, sharing boundary and look like a single block . For one plot I have sufficient proof of possession including a house on it, but for adjacent one I have only sale deed with specific boundary given with precision and for this plot I have to proof possession, will the documentary proofs of other plot can be used for this?
Plz. Suggest. Thanks.

Sale Deed, khata certificate/khata extract, tax paid receipt, encumbrance certificate are sufficient to prove that you are in possession of the property.

plots are adjacent looking like a single block....the sale deed is in your favour...the boundaries are defined....it means you are having clear access to the adjacent plot from the house....its enough to hold your possession.

possession does not mean that one must be sitting there in the plot all the times.
