Dear Srekumar,
Not necessarily. However, unless a partnership firm is registered with the registrar of firms, the rights of the partners inter se or against any third party cannot be enforced in a court of law. If the partnership deed itself creates, transfers or affects an interest in immovable property.

Mr Vishal is right and it is not compulsory .
But the Firm to be registered with Registrar of Firms.
It is better to Register the Partnership Firm -As suggested by Mr Vishal there are certian legal rights!

For effective enforcement of partnership rights, it's advisable to get the firm registered;

Dear friend,
I agree with the view of Mr. A V Vishal.
The registration of the partnership firm is not compulsory, but it is advantageous that the firm be registered.
The fees is a nominal one.
It can be registered with the Sub-Registrar's office where the Head office of the Firm is intended.
