Hi My father expired in 2004. We have a house of 50 yrds in name of my father,now we want to transfer it in the name of our mother.
Please let us know the procedure & expenditure involved.

you have not mentioned whether your father left behind any will or not . in addtion you have not mentioned who are the legal heirs .whether the parents are alive of your father?
if he died intestate on his death his wife and children would be the legal heirs.
the other legal heirs can execute deed of relinquishment in favour of your mother . have it stamped and regd

All the legal heirs i.e., you, your brothers(if any) or sisters will have to execute the regd., rights relinquish deed in favour of your mother. Reg., fee of this make an enquiry in the sub register office, normally minimum regn., charges will be there.
