Infidelity by husband

(Querist) 20 February 2015 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

I have strong doubts that my husband is having an extra marital affair. He has been treating me badly for last many years. I have now made up my mind now that I will get help of some professional agency to confirm my doubts and will seek divorce if doubts are found true.

Please help me by guiding in this matter and the procedure needed to be followed in such cases.

It has been around 11 years of marriage and we belong to sikh community.

well you can contact a detective agency to gather evidence of your husband extra marital affair
Anirudh (Expert) 20 February 2015
It will be advisable that you should not get directly involved. The detective agency should be employed through somebody - say a lawyer - so that in case the ultimate report comes in the negative - i.e. there is nothing as being suspected by you - then in that event, you will not be in a awkward position. Otherwise, the fact that you have set up a detective behind your husband itself may bring in further disaffection from your husband towards you.

Neelamji,

Just having doubts about your husband's infidility, will not serve your purpose.First make your personal efforts of tracking his daily routine. If not able to gather sufficient evidence personally, then opt for a third party interferience, or else you will land yourself in further trouble. Nothing wrong in bringing the matter before the elders of both the families. One straight question I would like to ask you, since how long this ill treatment is happening? What is his attitude towards your children? What is his contribution for the regular monthly budget of running the house? Why I am trying to know the facts is to come to a right conclusion. As a legal advisor,I could have directly asked you to take the help of third party investigation or approach the court of law.But if you are proven wrong in your doubts, that would ruin your entire family life. This is my personal view, but not contradicting the advice of the experts
