Land acquisition

(Querist) 21 June 2012 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir
In the year 1954 land was acquired from my Grand father by the govt. This land was acquired to operate a Brick kiln to manufacture bricks for the lining of Bhakhra canal. In the award it was specifically said that this land is required to operate brick kiln only. After that the land is now lying vacant as there is deep digging upto 15 feet as soil was used to manufacture bricks. I read it some where that agricultural pastoral land so acquired and is no longer required as the purpose has been fulfilled can be taken back by the person whom it was acquired or their legal heirs..I don’t know the law please let me know what the law is to take back this land.where should I file a suit/ application. What is the latest law of supreme court to take back this type of acquired land
Thanks
Inderpal Singh
