Dear Experts
I have applied for a Passport in the year 2002 and it expired in the year 2012, i gave it to a agent to make a passport in the year 2002 and my name is Fahad Kamal V K, and the passport officer asked for a elaboration of V K which agent himself has expanded as Valathur Khader, however my Surname is Vaniyambadi Karvatkar, now i want a reissue of my passport as my old passport is expired.
i enquired and the passport office said to give a name change advertisement in Tamil and English newspapers and claim a affidavit, i have already done both and went for the passport interview but now the passport officer is claiming to bring the Gazette copy and an ID proof with the same name as Fahad Kamal Vaniyambadi Karvatkar.
please help me with a solution to apply for Gazette copy and let me know how many days will this take.

You need to apply in Gazette Office of your state government in the given format and pay requisite fees, which is nomiinal. You can avail the form from the concerned government office.
In Maharashtra, the minimum time period is 20 days under urgent category and 120 days under ordinary category. The fee structure differs for both the categories. Please find out about your state.
