Sec 468 CrPC bar to take cognizance after lapse of the period of limitation.
I am confused as to from which day the limitation period actually start running i.e. commission of offence, knowledge of offence, report of offence, arrest & production, submission of charge sheet, make over to court, start of trial etc...and what is the technical step which determines that cognizance has been taken. whether recording of statement by a magistrate is taking cognizance. please suggest
