Sir, My father got some land from his mother and registered in his name. Later on the same was transfered in my name after discussing with all four brothers and one sister. At that time all brothers were having their own house, so no one objected for the same. After a lapse of more than ten years, my elder brother is asking for his share in the property. I am paying the tax for the land and the house which I had build for my own savings. What is law here? Is my brother is entitled to his share. What if other brothers and sisters ask for their share later on

If the property transferred to you was the ancestral property then your siblings have got share in it. But given the period of time lapsed in the mean time it would be difficult for them to claim their share.

It is to be known that how your grand mother acquired the property?. If it is self acquired property of your g/m and she had given to your father then your father is the absolute owner and he has right to dispose the property according to his will and wish.

U have neither stated as to how the property was transferred to you nor have U stated the community U belong to. These R important as the law varies according to community/religion etc. However, since others have been consenting parties to the transfer as stated, there is little scope for reverting to status quo ante.
