can husband deny a year later after marrying under special marriage act that some ceremonies were not observed.parties are hindu and marriage is over one year old.

No, he can not. Under Special marriage performance of ceremonies are not required.

If the marriage is registered under special marriage act then ceremonials are not required at all .

No ceremonies is needed while performing the marriage under special marriage act.
so no body can deny the marriage if it is performed under the special marriage act.

No here the husband cannot deny.
Had it been a case where the marriage was solemnized under Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 then the Husband could take an objection that proper ceremonies were not performed.
but in your case the marriage is solemnized under SMA, 1954...so the Husband's stand is unsustainable.
