Arunagiri & Shah! Even I do not know the meaning of Final Report True rather I know only about final report which is filed by police authorities after completion of its enquiry under section 173 of Criminal Procedure Code but I do not know whether this is other than charge-sheet.

Can author please post the reply of this query so that I may be benefitted?
Sailesh Kumar Shah (Expert) 18 December 2011
Makkad sir,

you are rightly said. there is no term 'Final Report True' in indian law.
Shonee Kapoor (Expert) 18 December 2011
:-) agreed.

Final Report is submitted after completion of inquiries.

Some people confuse the terminology.

Mr.Makkad,

Final Report True is not recognized in the Court. But, it is internal term used for classifying the result of the investigation.

Probably the author knows this and wants to test, whether others are knowing are not.

It is purely academic and nothing to do with the legal practise.

For Example this is the term used in NCRB Data which is self explanatory. I am also enclosing the format used by NCRB.

By this FR True is the result of investigation, where in the police found the allegations in the case in the FIR are true. This includes the charge sheeted not charge sheeted.

I am reproducing the relevant portion of the NCRB Report:-

5. Type of Final Form/Report: Charge Sheet / Not charge sheeted for want of evidence / FR True, Undetected / FR True, Untraced / FR True, offence abated / FR Unoccurred .
(tick ' ô€€³ ' applicable portion).

6. If FR Unoccurred: False/Mistake of Fact/Mistake of law/Non cognisable /Civil nature.
(tick ' ô€€³ ' applicable portion).

7. If Charge sheet : Original / Supplementary.
(tick ' ô€€³ ' applicable portion).
