Sc st property purchase rules - bangalore

I would like to purchase the building which is free site allotted from the government 30 years back, the owner belongs sc category, the possession letter clearly mentioned that owner should not sell the property period upto 20 years. now it's almost 30 years, so how can i purchase this property, is it required to get permission, if yes which department, and details of the process please let me know, thanks

No permission is required as the retaining period has already been expired. Go ahead and purchase that property.

Confirm from concerned office, In certain States, persons belonging to S.C. categories can not sale his property to non SC without the permission Government.

Yes ! Although terms of deed does not restrict the sale but there may be some legislation controlling the matter and as buyer you should check it with District Magistrate office and better get in reply by RTI for future safety.Mostly law restriction of these natures are found on agricultural lands are found and this one is a house.
