Sale deed-mutation review

(Querist) 12 November 2012 This query is : Resolved
Dear Experts,
If a sale deed for a specific portion of an agriculture land was executed, but without notice to vendor, the revenue authorities (AC-II grade), may be in connivance with the vendee, sanctioned mutation on share basis (un-divided land), then:
1. Could the mutation be reviewed by the Collector & if found faulty, could it be corrected by the Collector himself?
2. If yes, what is the time limit for such review appeal before Collector, after the sanctioning of the mutation?

Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 12 November 2012
Yes the competent authority can always on detection of the defect make necessary correction in the Revenue Record.
There is no time limit for this.
