If the stamp paper has been used then its validity is 6 months for the purpose of registration otherwise there is no limit.

In U.P if someone wants refund of the money
of the value of the unused stamp paper then period for that purpose is six months.
But unlike in Maharashtra(or as in A.P. as Mr.Ravinder.P,speaks of),in U.P. an unused
stamp paper can be used any time for purposes of paying stamp duty on any deed.
However when an unregistered document is to be executed paying stamp duty via a stamp duty purchased long before, the deed should speak about explaining circumstances why was it not used earlier so that in future disputes the other party may not be able to cast doubts over it in denial cases.
Except Will any document executed and required or desired to be registered should
be presented for registration within 04 months from the date of execution and it is matter of Registration Act and this law is common in all states.

In A.P. too they are using even after the statutory period of 6 months. Practically the 6 months concept is not followed. In some incidents, even after two years they have been used.

There is no statutory period for usage of the stamp paper. However, once the stamp paper is used and the agreement etc., is executed, then the same is required to be registered (wherever registration is compulsory) within 4 months from the date of such execution.
