Regarding noc certificate

Sir,

I am working as Assistant Engineer in UPPCL(State Electricity Department).I want to apply for UPSC Services.What is the procedure to inform my HOD regarding appearing in this exam and whether UPSC asks the NOC certificate in the interview phase??

UPSC may or may not ask the NOC. It is always better to keep your present employer informed that you are applying for appearing in the exam of UPSC.

Inform in writing to your present employer and keep the acknowledgement with diary no. if possible till any decision is received.
