Should medical report include lab test results also?

(Querist) 08 February 2014 This query is : Resolved
If someone is submitted for medical checkup under medical board on court order, should the medical report include true copy of all medical lab test results which were conducted as part of medical examination?
I'm asking this because the medical report already contains joint opinion of the doctors, who examined the party, in the medical board and some quoted references to lab test results, but not the true copy of all lab test results. The opposite party is insisting for the submission of true copy of all lab test results in the court, and also filed application in court to direct the medical board to submit the true copy test results also along with the medical report.

Is it required?

If yes, what purpose does it serve?

If no, Can I object such an application?

yes,as medical report without supporting evidence of tests reports is of no use in court.

When the report contains the reference of lab tests, the lab report need to be furnished. It is part of medical report.

It all depends upon what was the exact order of the court for medical test, including the level of the constituents of the medical board.

However, about your query, "what purpose does it serve," instead of asking for the purpose from experts, you could better have questioned the opposite party about the purpose of the background documents. Original medical record is normally not spared by the Medical Board, as that becomes the part of hospital's official record and hospital can be questioned any time by any authority on the issue. Tested and forgotten cannot professionally and ethically be the policy of the hospital.

I agree with Dhingra Ji.
