Respected Experts, my friend had inherited a house property after his father death which is his self earned one. He was under his care till death. Now one rival claim is being raised by a person stating that he is illegitimate son of his father and have a unregistered will signed by his father in his favour. I would like to know whether there exist any scientific method to determine the age of the ink used in the document so as to subject the same in his favour.

Author, if you have doubt, file a case in a court of law expressing your doubts to your counsel. the court, if it think necessary, it will send to forensic lab (that is scientific method).

Sir, for handwriting expert report the individual to be alive. My friend father has passed away. More so, our advocate is telling that there is no scientific method to determine the ink age. Does forensic can evaluate the ink age and whether court can take the same as piece of evidence. Kindly clarify. If any case law on the ink age, kindly tell us.

Your lawyer is right. An expert opinion even if permitted under section 45 of Indian Evidence Act, may not be able to determine the age of the ink, there is a risk hence try to disprove him as a legal heir at all through other sources.
