Writing in red in sub registrar office

I have a property in tamilnadu, but i have been told that in the sub registrar office where the property is registered , there is a marking in red on the folio saying that "any transcations to be been done on this property has to be done only after producing the original"..... why is this kind of red marking done in my folio? any reason?

There might be a court order to the registrar seeking production of original link deeds and sale deeds as some one might have complained against the sale deed registration (it need not be necessarily be your sale deed, but some of your predecessors in title might have had a legal dispute which was awarded in his favour later).Better to go to the sub-registrar office and find out details.
