Compromise in criminal cases

(Querist) 06 June 2016 This query is : Resolved
A person had convicted us 306 of IPC. and sentenced jail for 7 years. An appeal was filed in high court against such conviction and the same is still pending for disposal. My question is whether it is possible to get early disposal of the appeal if a compromise proposal is filed by the complainants at this stage. The accused had already passed 3 years in jail out of total sentence period of 7 years.

It can not be compounded, you can try to get bail pending appeal stating the delay in hearing the appeal.

In non compoundable offences also the curt can settle the dispute on consent pf the parties if the offence is not heinous in nature.
So you can try with the aid of the de facto complainant.

Nothing more to add
