Dear all,
Suppose i made an agreement in this way:
This agreement is made on17th day of March,2010 between....
And if i missed to mention the date from which the agreement is effective i.e. ' the agreement shall be effective from ...this date of..." shall the agreement be cancelled or be deemed to have been commenced from the date on which it is made i.e 17th March 2010?

It will be effective from the date it was made ie 17.3.2010.

It is a technically defective agreement. It has blanks not filled. However, agreement is not canceled but the date of its force is to be presumed. If you want to prove that you had intended the agreement to come into force from a date other than 17.03.2010, then you should establish from circumstances, evidence, documents etc., that you intended so. Otherwise, it is presumed that the agreement has come into force on 17.03.2010.
