Cheated by Dealer and Shopkeeper!!!

(Querist) 03 June 2010 This query is : Resolved
Dear All,

I have purchased a branded invertor and battery from a local shopkeeper in the vicinity. Within a short span of time (within warranty period) it started to give trouble which was duly reported by me. Now despite numerous personal visits both to Dealer and Shopkeeper I am still at square one as both are giving evasive reply. Kindly advise me the fastest possible way out in the circumstances as I have been told that even consumer forum these days are giving at least six months date at the time of issuing notice. Can I make manufacturing Company a party by putting them at notice.

Kindly advice

Thanking You

Best Regards

Why not?

You can include the dealer as well as the manufacturer as Opposite parties. As per the Consumer Act, a complaint has to be heard and disposed within 90 days. Practically it is not done. I recently heard that National Commission is pressurizing the Consumer Forum Presidents to hasten the proceedings. So have faith and file the complaint.
