dear concern ,
can women become karta after her husband death and left two minor daughter.
if she can become karta can she open a new bank account

There are no other major members / major male members in the family to act as Kartha/ or / Manager of HUF - the Adult member of the Family is only Widow , in these circumstances she can act as manager/(kartha) of the family and she can open New Bank account as Manager/Kartha of HUF-But it is very rare situation.There is no other alternative to the family and old concept of Female can not be manager/kartha of the HUF is not be fitting in the present situation and in the given Circustances and the same is not correct in the light of Amendments to the Hidud Law.

Dear Ankit,
The answer to your query is affirmative and I humbly beg to differ from Mr.Y V Vishweshwar Rao that it is not if there is no major male member then only a women can become a karta even voluntarily if it is decided amongst the family member that a women will be a karta then in that eventuality there is no bar.
I think this amply clarifies your query.

Dear SKJ may peruse advice of expert YVV ?
Why should the new Karta require a NEW bank ACCOUNT as the earlier existing Account care surely be continued with changed signatures of the new Karta - male or female !
In the case of new Account, She would require to declare all living members and their authorisation for operating HUF Account; In her case the surviving daughters would be required to be declarecas co-parceners after the amendment of HSA !
