I BELONGS TI KHATIK COMMUNITY WHICH IS RECOGNISED AS SCHEDULE CASTE IN MAHARASHTRA SC LIST AT SERIAL NO 31. BUT SINCE I AM PROFESSING MUSLIM RELIGON IT IS SAID THAT I CAN NOT CLAIM TO BE SCHEDULE CASTE.I GOT SCHEDULE CASTE CERTIFICATE FROM COMPETENT AUTHORITY GOVT OF MAHARASHTRA.PLEASE ADVICE WHETHER I AM ENTITLE FOR SCHEDULE CASTE STATUS

once you converted in to Muslim then you cannot claim status of SC.

Benefit of reservation of SC is available to only to Hindus as Schedule caste (Caste system is prevailing only in Hindus. As soon as you converted to Muslim Religion, you lost your all the right, which were enjoyed by you as Hindu. Thus you can not claim benefit of reservation of SC, which is available to Hindus only

Write pitition no.180 of 2004 is pending in suprime courte of india to accord the schedule caste status to dalit muslim and dalit christian.The final hearing of pitition is on 26/7/2013. We hope sc will do justis with dalit converts .
