Appointment delay

hi i ve been offer a letter of appointment By a company h/r after completion of my interview and they ve asked to resign from my current job i ve resign from my current job and accepted the offer......but from till date they are keep delaying my joining for no reasons. they are saying my verification is pending from their end but i am now sitting at my home with no job .I ve with me the offer letter of that company i am sitting at home with no pay.....from 22nd of august till now....because i ve resigned from my previous job at 21st.....can i do something against them......

Only if you could prove that the new company misled you to leave your earlier job on false promise of employment , then only could succeed in a suit for damages.
However the suit would take years together to finally disposed of. So do not fail to take note of it.

You should keep waiting from your new employer for some more days and after about 10 days, make a representation and claim for your rights therein failing which.....you again come on this site and raise your query in the light of latest facts as on that date.

it is hardly 10 days. two to three weeks delays in such matters occurs usually,especially in companies dealing with high security informations,they insist on thorough enquiry before the postings.

have in touch with the HR dept of the company to access the real reason for delay.

LATEST DEVELOPMENT IS THIS THE MANAGER CALLED ME ON JOB AND I AM WORKING IN THAT COMPANY...BUT STILL I AM WORKING ON NO PAY...BECAUSE MY VERIFICATION IS STILL PENDING .....AND MY MANAGER SAYS THAT ITS YOUR WISH WETHER YOU WANT TO WORK ON NO PAY OR WAIT FOR THE JOINING FORMALITIES AT HOME ........WHAT YOU EXPERST WANT TO SAY ON THIS KIND OF SITUATION PLEASE COMMENT.....AND I WIILL BE PAID ONLY FROM THE DATE OF JOINING......HE SAYS THESE THING WHEN I VE BEEN CALLED FOR WORK FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS
