I want to know is ESIC & PF applicable on Stipend of Trainee / Apprentice appointed by college / Institute.

Apprentice, OTHER THAN an apprentice engaged under the Apprentices Act, 1961 (52 of 1961) or under the standing orders of the establishment, comes within the purview of the definition of "employee" as per section 2(f) of the EPF Act.

ESIC is applicable to regular employees (workers) up to wages of 15,000 p.m. (w.e.f. 01.05.2010).

So, you can check, whether apprentice appointed by your institution comes under the purview of the schemes or not.
