Respected sirs,
my personal loan from a bank is cleared.ECS
also automatically stopped by the bank,now
a letter from the bank that one installment
is not paid so they have claimed for the same
alongwith a big amount of Ecs reurn charge,penalty etc.pl.advice how to defend.

Instruct the bank to stop the ECS facility.
Now the agreement with the bank needs to be seen to determine whether the bank can levy such fines or charges .

If the bank is found to be at fault on that account then file a complaint either before the Banking Ombudsman or Consumer Forum.

Check documents related to personal loan, when you would find that everything has done proper, you can file a complaint either before the Banking Ombudsman or Consumer Forum.

You can demand for the statement of accounts, cross check it with your accounts.

In case of mistake on the bank issue a notice to them.
