There is no prescribed time limit for filing a Writ. However ot should be within the reasonable from the date of cause of action to make the case more presentable before the court.

writs are constitutional prerogatives of High Courts in the nature of equitable reliefs.Delay defeats equity is the main limitation theme,then sooner the better is the rule once the cause of action has started to run.

Writ can be filed anytime. No Time bar ot Limitation. High Court entertain only those writs , under territorial jurisdiction of that state, and SC for whole of India. During Emergency, it is not available, in majority cases.
