Gas connection transfer- regarding

My father inlaw and my mother in were died in an road accident. My wife is the only legal heir.My father in law was having a gas connection in Bharth petrolium ltd.I want to transfer the gas connection to my wife name.The dealer is insisting us to surrender the gas connection.We need this gas connection too for domestic requiement.Kindly suggest how to transfer my in law's gas connection to my wife name

actually you surrender the deceased gas connection and inchoate the new connection, if done they will give immediately otherwise you file the writ.

The dealer rightly said for surrender the gas connection.

Had you been living in the same house premises then the transfer of the connection on the same address would have taken place but if the address is being changed then it is the policy of the company which shall prevail and as the dealer has advised you to surrender, there seems no such policy so you can do nothing even in the courts also against policy matter.

this is a long process! u need to produce inheritance, NOC from other heirs n all sort of things. better get a new connection in your name as new connections r easily available
