Property dispute

I am 32 yrs old lady staying in joint family with my husband, mother in law and father in law.My father in law owns a 2 houses in mumbai.one house he has sold and given the entire money to my brother in law.My brother in law in turn purchased a bigger house in joint name with my mother in law and he stays seperate.The current house in which we are staying belongs to my father in law only.My father in law has promised that after his death,current house will be given to my husband.Till that happens we are staying in uncertainty.What can we do legally about it since there is nothing in my husbands name

Since it is father in law's property, you can only hope to get it. You can not force him to get this one.

Ask your husband to work hard so he can buy a house like that.

Your father in law owns the house and free to dispose it in any manner of his choice either during his life time or by leaving a testamentary succession called Will.Keep patience and affectionately serve and nurse him.

Moreover also inspire your husband to make properties of his own following the footprint of his father.

Your father in law can make a registered gift in your husband's name if you are ready to bear the stamp duty and he is also ready to get it done.
