one of my relatives wife booked 498a but they living together
The women has earlier tried to small sedatives & was hospitalized/discharged
And has tendencies to take tranquilizing tablets without prescibtion from the doctor.
Question
Some police currently working in PS are saying that if any woman for any reason dies through suicide or dying not-naturally, the husband and his parents will be booked under dowry death case.
1) Is the police said ideally law situation or misguiding?
2) In case (god forbid) if any eventuatlity ,will the relative husband for sure goes to jail as per stament (i) if it is true or
If yes does he requires to take some legal advice now, for her wife strange suicidal behaviour?

get the lady examined by a psychiatrist . obtain his written opinion as to lady is suffering from any mental illness . he will suggest necessary prescription for a speedy recovery . if the lady had previously complained of dowry harassment and had subsequently committed suicide then cops will investigate then take action

1. This is general practice to which police officer has told you.
2. It all depends upon the investigation.
The suggestion of Sethi should also be applied by you, if possible.
