Non registration of marriage

(Querist) 24 June 2013 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,

My client being Telugu christian (protestant) got married in year 2000.

The marriage was solemnized with all rituals at home of the groom.

The marriage was nor registered under Christian Marriage Act.

And now my client want to file a contesting divorce petition against her husband.

Will my case get dismissed on account of non registration of marriage.

Shall we consider the Marriage solemnized as an valid marriage .

Kindly revert

Regards

First you may send a legal notice to the other party detailing the facts of the marriage held and other sequences and wait for their reply. The reply will be a reliable piece of evidence for proving the marriage and other allegations/averments. You may later work out the remedies in the court.
