I have met with an accident on 15/09/2013 I am driving a car. I hit a lady crossing road i ran away from the accident point someone noted my car no. and on the next day police seized my car and my dl and I was charged under IPC 279/337. I want to know what should I do further and how to get my car release and also what will be the penalties my car is not insured

You will have to an application before the concerned court for the release of the car or some times in the police station after following the procedure car will be relased.
If the injured files any case against claiming compensation for the accidental injuries, you will have to pay the compensation awarded by the court, if your car is not insured.

You can get the car released through court. If car is not insured, any compensation award by the court to the injured has to be paid by you. Compensation award depends upon many factors.
