If your grand father have property, you are entitled for a share. If your father alive, you are entitled to a share from your father's share only.

Read succession act. you are entitled for a share among other legal heirs in the ancestral property inherited by your father.

State the full facts

You may or may not have any share in the property of your Grandfather.

It would depend on the nature of property, your religion, state and whether your Grandfather is alive or not. Also, at what stage your grandfather came in the possession of such property.

Better consult a good lawyer with complete facts of the case.

T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 04 January 2014
In your grandfather's self acquired property, after his demise, only his legal heirs, namely your father, his brothers, sisters, his mother have rights and interests in the intestate properties of your grandfather. You do not have any right of share in the said properties. You will be a legal heir to your father alone.
