Resale of my used car

Respected Sirs,
I have sold my used car through an advertisement in Feb.2014 to an individual. I have signed Form No.28,29 and 30 and handed over to him. Also I have obtained his assurance on Rs.100 stamp paper that he will transfter the car in his name and that he will be responsible for all the dues,taxes and other legal obligations from the date of purchase. Now two months are over and he is still not giving me the copy of his RC book as a proof that he has transferred the car in his name. In this senario,I
always worry that in case, if any thing wrong happens to the car, can it affect me ? What more can i do rather than keep on requesting the purchaser to show me the copy of his new RC book ? Your expert answer from legal point will help to releive my tension to great extent. Thanks in advance. Regards.

Till the vehicle is officially transferred by the authorities only you are the owner. Send him lawyer's notice to return car, if he fails to get the vehicle transferred within some specified period (to be mentioned in the notice).

send letter to RTO by rgistered post that yu have sold the car . enclose copy of letter received from purchaser wherein he has agreed to be be liable for payment of all taxes etc from date of purchase
