Tiffin centre

(Querist) 15 August 2014 This query is : Resolved
Sir/madam

First of all Happy Independence day to all the members.

we are running a tiffin centre at our home where we used to serve food to limited people (max. 15 person).
Now my question is do we need to to register it under shop & establishment act , i am a sole propriter and none of the workers have been appointed except maid for cleaning & washing utensils ?
if yes then is any written deed to be made for sole propriter like partnership deed for partnership business for submission to the local labour commission office.

Thanks & Regards

Have you faced any hassles? Ordinary rights of the citizens could not be interfered without an express sanction of the Legislature and the Laws.

nothing of that sort is required. Merely apply for Trade License.
V R SHROFF (Expert) 15 August 2014
Carry on as it is..
Otherwise you will invite trouble of "" e.g."
Use of Gas/ Electricity " for business/ ind/ hotel at 3 times the rate for residential use.
Hotel license//
Food & d
& All that!!!.

After all it is a small job; you are cooking for ur frd/ in home/ and collects their contributions.. Not selling.. anything.. ... Do not make it commercial look..[15 meals only!!]
Appreciate reply of Shri "P. Venu" [ short & sweet]
