The transfer could be effected by way of gift or settlement. But, why you want to effect this transfer?

You can gift if the stamp fee is nominal for gift to blood relatives in your state.

Any of the options e.g. registered settlement/gift/sale deed etc as suitable in your case may be adopted.

What sort of "settlement" is proposed?

Gift or sale is the right way to transfer the property in your father's name.

You did not reply the question raised by expert Mr. P Venu, why do you want to transfer it in your father's name?
