(Querist) 12 December 2016 This query is : Resolved
Regarding my FIR case, charge sheet has been filed & summon sent to A1 .
I have been said I will get the dates of hearings.
Am I supposed to engage a lawyer in this?
If not, how should I proceed?
Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 12 December 2016
If you are complainant / victim you may not engage a lawyer.Public Prosecutor would represent on your behalf.

However, it is better if you have to look after your interest.
Ms.Usha Kapoor (Expert) 13 December 2016
There is nothing wrong if you can engage another expert lawyer to see you interests in the case to oversee or assist the prosecution in the case to bolster up your confidence. Regarding others law will take its own course.

1. Since FIR & Case before the Court is filed by the Police Dept. (State), You cannot engage a Private lawyer to conduct the Case of the Police Dept.

2. HOWEVER, as agreeably mentioned by Expert "Ms. Usha Kapoor",
"you can engage another expert lawyer to see you interests in the case to oversee or assist the prosecution".
This is only for the purpose of "Oversee or Assist" the PP (with the permission of the Court).

May proceed as advised.

Well advised by experts, I agree.
Seek professional services of a private local lawyer to assist the public prosecutor in your own interest and benefit, if you want better results of your complaint.
