Dowry case

My brother lives in the gulf. his wife is planning to file a dowry case. i wanted to know if my brother sends a letter attested from Indian Embassy that i am not involved. Will it help? can she still get me in this case or else WHAT CAN BE DONE?

It shall not help you in anyway because the embassy is not empowered to issue such certificates and even police or court is not bound by such character certificates.

No one except the complainant can state or declare whether a person is involved in an alleged crime or not.

So no matter how many times your brother vouch for your innocence , it is his wife who would call all the shots.

I fully agree with Mr Burman and Makkar. No use. Once the case is filed he is likely to be arrested at the airport on arrival. or else if his wife works hard then he can be got deported. In any case unless he surrentds in India there is less chnce of anyone of the family member, to get bail. Anyway you are available in India for being arrested any time after case is filed.

hypothetical case. no case has been filed nor any allegations made against you yet . why do you apprehend your siser in law will drag you in dowry case?

both your brother and sister in law are staying separtely in gulf . if however your sister in law does name you in the case then you will have to seek bail .

It is better to seek bail at appropriate time with a permission to travel abroad for work and contest the case.
