Want to know scope of government gazette

Hi,
My husband has changed his name in gazette of maharashtra government. However I am interested to know the limitations & scope of that gazette.
Can we use the same to update our property documents having old name on them?
& Can it enable us to update name on bank accounts?

gazette is a government paper of declaration to the officials and public about the order, changes, postings, appointments, G.O etc. regarding the query your property name transfer is with concerned Taluk office regarding mutation. bank accounts are guided by the banking regulation act and book of accounts and it is guided by RBI. it is private and confidential one. but the Gazette, transfer of documents, patta, etc are public one it can be assessed by every one.

Mr. Ganesan,
I am afraid you have not understood the question.
Having got the name changed through publication in the Gazette, the querist wants to know whether by producing the Gazette copy one will be in a position to get the new name (i.e. the changed name) entered in the property records, bank account etc.
The query is not whether the Gazette notification is different from RBI Guidelines, or Taluk guidelines. The query is also not whether it is a public document or a private document.

The change and rectification of the name are published in the official gazette of the state or central government.
The said gazette cna be produced for effecting the said change in name in various documents and government records. The gazatte shall be supported with an affidavit to confirm the same.
