Court has the authority to attach your property if you don't pay the amount. You will not be spared from payment of maintenance just by sending to jail.
Shrug off the ego which is the rout cause of every problem. Surprised to hear that you are ready to spoil your wife for just Rs.1000/- per month.

Dear Naren,
When you are prepared for anything and everything, why post a query in the forum.Court is not your house,in your house you can do as per your wish, but you have to follow the directions of the court.

Rs. 1000/- p.m. / today with Rs. 33/- a day, one can't buy a liter of Milk to survive.
She offered you as wife, and ready to live with you, that's why Mtn Order is passed!!
You married her, and ur duty to arrange for her food, clothes, and the amt court order is bare minimum.
You must obey Court Order.
Jail is no solution to it.
remember, to send you to jail, she may have to pay Govt, Double the amount for your food etc in Jail, for Jail Expenses. . She is bound to deposit it before sending you to jail. Both are looser that way.

You cannot avoid payment of maintenance. If you are employee then your salary can be attached by the court or you may sent to jail.
