Time limit

Suppose a muslim wife changes her religion. Within how much she should

1. Inform her husband;

2. File case for getting divorce from her husband due to change of religion

Time is not essence for change of religion and intimation to the other spouse, but the genuine change of religion is the essence.Embracing another religion for the purpose of second marriage would be void.

To my knowledge Islamic law does not contain any mention of the time within which a muslim woman should inform her husband about the change of religion by her. I think suppression of the fact by the woman for along time may be against ethics of good conduct. No time limit for filing a divorce application on the ground of change of religion.But long lapse of time may lead to an inference of condoning the ground.
