Index ii

(Querist) 09 January 2013 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,

I purchased a property in Maharashtra and got it registered.

There is no error in the registration document but the typist made an error in the Index II.

Now I want to get it corrected, can you please advise me the process?

Does it require a correction dead or a simple application can do?

Are both buyer and seller required to be present in registrar office for this correction?

Regards,
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 09 January 2013
Both buyer and seller jointly should get registered Rectification deed before the same registrar giving the entire details of earlier registered document and mistake occurred thereto.

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for your reply.
This mistake was made by the registrar office whilst typing in the index II; otherwise there is no error anywhere in the agreement.

Even in this situation both parties need to visit and register rectification deed? I am asking this because actually there will be no rectification in the agreement.

Best regards

Dear Sir,

I could see your following answer to one of the similar queries

“Apply to the registration department and make correction to this typographic error who shall issue you supplementary Index no. II.”

May I request you to kindly clarify whether the rectification deed is necessary or not?

There is difference of only words otherwise both the replies are same.
