Could any of the friends and experts enlighten me as to =
whether an official of an educational society initiate defamation case and represent and pursue the case in-person. If so any section/act and also citation of similar case.

But Defam cases are useless.. unproductive..

Every person has right to pursue and defend his cause personally in courts but if he chooses to appoint an agent on his behalf for this purpose such agent should be an advocate unless court agrees to allow a non advocate to do so.
If you are interested to know beyond it join law course.

yes, appointment of advocate to try a a case is not mandatory.

Views of the club members were of extreme use in the past.
Query re. Interrogatories:
Application u/s O-11, R-12 & 4 r/w S.151 CPC – whether questions should be as a separate annexure or engrossed in the application itself. Whether it should be supported by affidavit? If engrossing the questions in the application itself is the right course, in that event, whether at the end it whether should it be verified.
Shall solicit valued views of Ld. Members, please, at the earliest.

I think your application would have been under Order 11 Rule 12 & 14 and not Rule 4.
Anyway, Every application seeking interrogatories is required to be supported with an affidavit and verification at the end of the application.
