Also I had read in news link that Delhi HC had approved marriage registration via Video conferencing. Please see below:

you can make application for registration of marriage . visit the marriage Registrar office when you come down to India on your next trip . you must be having your wedding invitation card , certificate from pandit who performed your marriage . submit your application form with required documents . you would also need 3 witnesses

1. I observe that you need the marriage certificate for renewal of your visa.
2. The production of such marriage certificate is also required to be evidenced trough a document is a relevant marriage certificate and it must have been likewise duly submitted to the competent authority then why should it be now necessary to produce it again when applying for renewal of visa, considering that such marriage certificate is had been earlier submitted and recorded and reference if be needed by the visa consulate then they can can re- analyze by an access to record of such document.to
2. The fact that your passport would too reveal the fact that your status in the passport is shown as 'married' then this evidence its self does not necessitate the reproduction of such marriage certificate while applying for renewal of visa.
3. The fact you have not given any connected details about your period of stay in Canada and with your family including your child and whether you passport do or do not confirm to material status.
4. There is a way out that in case your marital status in your passport has not been up graded and you need to register your marriage so that you can get a requite certificate.
6. You can approach the Indian Consulate in Canada and with a joint affidavit duly notarized on oath before a Canadian Public Notary confined to declaration of you both have been living lie husband and wife since _______ and the legitimate child born out of our wedlock on ________ in India/*# Canada and had got married on ________at __________________, solemnized under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 as by having taken the mandatory seven steps each before the holy fire and had evinced our such married and stared to live like husband and wife. But for some unforeseen circumstances we have had not got our marriage registered earlier, and for the proof of the marriage our individual Indian Passport No. ___________issued by the Passport Officer stationed at __________ on __________ and a certified true copies o f such relevant passport are attached herewith for necessary verification compliance, and summit it before the Marriage Office such Indian Consulate in Canada and a certificate thereof be and can be given by such legally appointed authority.
4. You need to make a visit to the Indian Consulate and have a of formal inquiry as regards to to resolve your issue before making out such joint affidavit.

Thank you so much Rohit and Ajay for your valuable recommendations.
I have move Canada just a year ago. And had to get my passport renewed with in Canada from Indian Consulate. While renewing my passport I had declared my self as married. However they didn't added my spouse name in my passport due to unavailability of marriage certificate.
On the other hand, my wife had got her passport issued in India and we had made joint affidavit which helped getting spouse name added in her passport.
So in all, my wife has my name added in her passport however I don't have her name in my passport.
Hence need to marriage certificate is one of the necessary element for me. And unfortunately I will not be travelling to India before getting my visa renewed

"The court directed the registering authority of the Hindu Marriage Act to accept the application for registering the marriage of Chadha's daughter and son-in-law through their power of attorney holders."
You can both can give power of attorney to your confidants in India to file papers for Registration of Marriage basing on the above judgement.

Great, that sounds viable solution.
Mr. Malipeddi Jaggarao, would you be able to elaborate more on "power of attorney holders"?

You both will have to execute power of attorney in favour of any one of your friends or relatives on whom you have faith that the entrusted work will be executed sincerely.
It has to be prepared (separately by you and your wife) in India (by some advocate in INdia) and sent to your country where you live-in and you have execute before the Indian consulate and forward the same to that person. The stamp duty will paid by adjudication of the document immediately after receipt of in India (if required) by your advocate. As far as this issue is concerned, he steps into your shoes to deal with the matter.
