Dv Maintenance

Respected experts,
Maintenance allotted in dv case for me and my son 2 months back. Respondent is neither paying maintenance regularly nor clearing arrears. My council told we can not pressurize respondent to pay just by u/s 20 of Dv act and so he is telling me to file another case u/s 30. My query- Is it necessary to file that case and will that be helpful for me to get regular maintenance?
