rules with regard to Will under muslim personal law

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 03 November 2010 This query is : Resolved
sir, what are the rules with regard to Will under the muslim personal law or shariyat?
Whether, women could make Will for her adopted childrens?
ashish lal (Expert) 03 November 2010
first of all, there is no concept of ancestral and self acquired property concept as in case Hindu Law.

A muslim can make a will of 1/3rd of the property rest of the property is devolved as per law of inheritance.

A muslim can gift all his property but after death it may get challenged.A MUSLIM can SELL all his property.

I agree with Mr.Ashish and would like to add that Muslim law does not recognise adoptions at all.
