Pre-requisite: Parties are staying apart for minimum 1 year before filing of MCD
Steps Involved:
Step 1: Get Mutual Consent Petition drafted by a lawyer/ do it yourself.
Step 2: Both parties sign it and file it in the court (You would get a date next day for appearance generally however it can be two days too)
Step 3: The parties appear on the said date and give statements that they are ready for Mutual Consent Divorce.
Step 4: WAIT FOR Statutory Period of waiting for six months.
Step 5: Repeat Step 1-2-3 for second motion after six months.
THEREAFTER DON'T FORGET TO COLLECT THE DECREE.

Maintenance/ Alimony in MCD is decided mutually.
Expenses: If you do it yourself, negligible.
Ifg you get it done through a lawyer, depends on your paying capacity and nrgotiations skills.
