Correcting misspelled name in certificates

(Querist) 05 October 2014 This query is : Resolved
My name is misspelled in my degree(BE) certificate, mark sheet and my child birth certificate. Some people are suggesting to get the certificates corrected in the respective place and some are suggesting to get the affidavit for identity. Not sure what to do on this.

Actual name : T.JAYANANDAN (in 10th and 12th)
Misspelled name : T.JEYANANDAN (in BE Degree,BE mark sheet, My child's birth certificate)

I would like to continue using my actual name(T.JAYANANDAN).

If getting affidavit is the correct way, then will it be valid in case of validating mark sheets while VISA processing.
Kindly suggest me the right way to proceed.

Hi Sudhir Sir. Thanks for you reply.

I checked with University. And they said, it can be done. But i am facing this spelling mistake issue in many areas (even in my child birth certificate). I would like to know if 'One and the same person' affidavit will work or there is any other solutions.

It is my fate that I've laminated my certificates :( . I heard that these laminated certificates can not be uncovered(removing lamination).

Thanks Sudhir sir. I'll reach out university. But to change the spelling mistake in my kids's birth certificate, they advised me to get the 'One and the same person' affidavit. They said that this will work for any name issue in my future. I'm curious to know about this affidavit. Can u pls help me to understand this?

If you have been advised to furnish affidavit, you may proceed with it.
